The Overlandies poptop DIY kit for all Land Rover Defender 110.
Our in-house development has been successful on the market since 2018 and has proven itself countless times with our customers. Worldwide.
With plenty of headroom and a bed width of 133 cm, our kit is the ideal living space extension for every Defender.
Simple assembly
On every Land Rover Defender, the standard roof shell is bolted to the body. If you loosen the bolts, you can lift off the roof shell.
Our aluminium poptop-frame is then placed between the body and the roof shell and bolted to the existing screw holes. All fastening materials (made of stainless steel) are included in the kit.
100% retrofittable
No permanent changes to your vehicle are necessary, the conversion is carried out without damaging the original condition.
The standard roof shell of your Defender will continue to be used unabridged. Our concept of the uncut roof shell is protected by a utility model.
TÜV approval
The poptop conversion can be easily entered in the vehicle documents. Registration is carried out by individual approval, we will be happy to advise you.
Quality Made in Germany
Our aluminum poptop frames are manufactured in Germany from laser-cut aluminum profiles using the TIG welding process. High-quality weld seams and production on construction gauges are a matter of course for us.
Our HD aluminum profile hinge is waterproof by design and connects both frames (no water-prone piano hinge!), without any rubber covers or the like. A clever sealing system made of EPDM seals ensures a dry interior
High-quality tent in the color of your choice
The tent is the heart of every poptop. If the tent is of inferior quality, the indoor climate, sleep and overall sense of space will suffer.
Our tents are made from a breathable tarpaulin fabric from the yachting sector that is very pleasant to the touch. We attach great importance to excellent tent quality; you will look in vain for Airtex materials or similar.
Our tents are attached to the poptop frame using keder-rails (no inferior Velcro fastening).
Our German-based tent manufacturer can look back on decades of experience in tent manufacturing. In this way, we guarantee our customers high quality with our product for many years to come. All zippers (YKK) of our tents are covered with fabric from the outside and thus protected from rain. All seams are also sealed watertight from the inside with a special seam sealing tape. All windows can be opened and rolled up and there are mosquito nets on every window.
Fairly produced
Our aluminum frames and tents are produced and manufactured with high precision in Germany, under fair working and wage conditions and with high standards for our product.
The original look of the vehicle is retained
Our poptop runs in line with the A-pillar and raises your Defender by only 14 cm.
Low weight
Our kit weighs only 45 kilograms. This is particularly noticeable off-road.
Mattresses, slatted frames and bed bases optional
Our mattresses (100% Made in Germany) can be ordered in 3 different firmness levels. Material: EvoPore HRC comfort foam incl. high-quality cover (removable and washable).
Our slatted frames (Made in Germany) made of beech wood are adjustable in firmness and can be folded up with gas pressure dampers.
We offer our bed panels (200 cm total length) made from CNC-manufactured composite panels.
Tent color as desired
Our poptop roof kit includes a ready-to-install tent with three windows, made from a UV-resistant and waterproof tarpaulin fabric used in yachts. The color of the tent can be selected in black or anthracite.
All three windows are fitted with a high-quality mosquito net and are easy to open using zippers (YKK). The mosquito net in the rear window can also be opened and rolled up separately. In addition, all tent seams are sealed on the inside with a special seam sealing tape.
Adapted to the personal roof load
The gas-struts supplied are individually adjusted to your personal roof weight. With or without a roof rack.
All Defender roof racks can be mounted on our poptop, as the standard roof shell of your vehicle remains unchanged with our kit.
Simply tell us your planned roof load and we will send you the right set of gas-struts.
Unique
With our kit, it is not necessary to shorten the original roof shell of your vehicle. Despite this, the lower aluminum frame has a sloping front end and merges into a line with the windshield. This means that the entire conversion can be completely retrofitted and the vehicle can be returned to its original condition at any time. For example, the poptop can easily be taken over when changing vehicles.
The kit concept with an uncut roof shell is our own development and protected by us with a utility model.
Individually
The concept of our DIY-kit enables our customers to make individual changes or modifications as required. A material thickness of 3.0 mm on our aluminum frames allows the attachment of awnings or other accessories, for example. In addition, the closed frame design made of rectangular profiles offers the option of concealing cabling within the poptop frame. For example, for solar cables or USB charging sockets.
Of course, there is still enough space for your sleeping gear when closed.
